IND vs PAK Asia Cup: Suryakumar Yadav Again Skips Handshake With Pakistan Captain (Image Source: Social Media )

Sports News: Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav once again skipped the handshake with Pakistan during the toss of Sunday’s Asia Cup Super Four match. This comes just a week after India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets at the same venue, a game that also ended without the customary handshake. The decision, supported by senior staff and approved by the BCCI, was made to show solidarity. After that earlier win, Suryakumar had dedicated the victory to India’s armed forces and expressed support for the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

Pakistan camp receives visit from PCB chairman

Before Sunday’s match, Salman Ali Agha’s team got a surprise visit from PCB chairman and Asian Cricket Council head Mohsin Naqvi. He went straight to Pakistan’s nets at the ICC Academy in Dubai, where players paused practice to greet him. Naqvi later had a lively discussion with head coach Mike Hesson, making strong gestures before calling captain Agha to stress a few points. This has led to talk that Pakistan may try to send a political message if they win. During warm-ups, Pakistan’s players seemed extra fired up, shouting “6-0” several times while playing foot-volley — a chant linked to a false claim that six Indian Air Force planes were shot down during Operation Sindoor. Naqvi is also set to meet ICC officials after the global body sent a strict email about PMOA (Players and Match Officials Area) breaches and misconduct before Pakistan’s match against the UAE.

India again refuses handshake after big win

Adding more mystery, Pakistan skipped their pre-match press conference for the second time in a row in the Asia Cup, sparking talk of tension inside the camp. In their previous clash last Sunday, India had chased 128 in only 15.5 overs to win by seven wickets. That match also drew attention when the Indian players, led by Suryakumar, again declined to shake hands with the Pakistan team, saying it was to show support for the families of the 26 people killed in the April Pahalgam terror attack.
